The company was created in 1977 under the name “Aciéries et Laminoirs de Rives” and derived from Ets EXPERTON REVOLLIER established in 1810. At that time, the factory manufactured hand tools, then became a holding company for which ALR is now a subsidiary.
ALR is among the rare French independent steelworks not belonging to foreign or to national stockholding groups.
ALR’s vocation is to meet the specific requirements of clients unable to find satisfaction with standard products.
Our annual production is of 50,000 tons of steel.

Activities:

Main activity : production and sales of hot-rolled steel bars (standard sizes or specific shapes).
Means of production : 2 rolling-mills, straightening-machines, sawing-machines.
Qualities : unalloyed steels, alloyed steels, stainless.

Other activities:

• Peeling (complete supplies by ALR or using customer’s material)
• Specific finishing:
  • Sawing, drilling, machining (for fishplates and ties-bars for twin-block sleepers)
  • Shearing, punching (for fences, vine-stakes)
  • Annealing: (in a gas-fired furnace)
